Recent bug fixes
We have implemented many fixes over the last month that have considerably improved our site. A more comprehensive list of changes can always be found on our changelog , however here is a brief list of the majors:
- IE users were having troubles viewing and saving routes. This was fixed several weeks back, resolving all issues.
- Random "Something went wrong" errors around the site were fixed.
- Fixed an error that was causing routes in certain locations to not save. This affected about 150 users in total.
- Improved the stability of our file upload service. Your uploaded activities should not get stuck in the queue unless we experience a large amount of traffic
Photos on trips with geotagging
Next time you are viewing one of your rides, click on the photos tab on the right sidebar. You can upload a handful of photos from your ride all at once and set captions. If the photos have GPS coordinates (provided by many cell phone cameras, and some of the newer point-and-shoot cameras) the photos will be identified on the map as well, where you can click to see them. We love seeing photos of rides, and will be fleshing photo-related features out more over the coming weeks. If you have any ideas here, get in touch!
We are caught up on user correspondence!
Over the last three month span, we received over 600 user questions, comments and suggestions. Unfortunately, this deluge was not attended to and we were swamped! The backlog was finally cleared two weeks ago, and we have been staying on top of correspondence. Additionally, we have put in place an improved system for handling these comments which means we will continue our timely responses to your feedback. Again, we apologize to anyone that was left waiting for a reply.
With that said, get in touch if you have any problems, ideas, questions, or just want to say hello! The feedback we have received has been absolutely instrumental in getting the site to its current place, and it truly brightens our day to hear from anyone using Ride with GPS.
Our current roadmap
In addition to improving our existing features, we are working hard to launch premium accounts. Much of the work we are doing is making our current offerings more robust, as well as expanding help/support options. Once we have a more stable platform and our initial premium features are more solid, we will be launching these paid accounts. Additionally, we are intending on offering phone support for premium account holders. We are investigating options for this, but are excited for the opportunity to speak to our users on the phone.
Coming soon: Activity Center
Manage all of your rides easily and efficiently. Get graphs and tables of any grouping of your previous rides. Use our innovative continuously scrolling calendar that doesn't cut off from one month to another. Rides are organized by year/month/week, route, and category, all of which can be easily and quickly managed here. This will be where our customers will be spending most of their time on Ride with GPS. We have been developing and testing this for several months now, and it is really a great interface to manage your activity log.
