Segments are a new feature that offer the opportunity to race against yourself and other users of the site,
without actually riding alongside one another. By defining a section of your favorite ride as a Segment, we
will then auto-detect whenever someone else rides along that section, ranking them against everyone else
who rides the same Segment. Whether it's your favorite hill or the perfect 5 mile flat section you love
to go all out on, you can easily see who else crosses your path.
View a video demonstrating how to use segments here.
For further information, visit the segments help page.
For those of you who have played with segments over the last couple of days, we have tuned our matching
algorithm and have re-matched all of your existing segments. Thanks for the great feedback and test data!
Please realize, segments are a work in progress. Over the next week, we will be addressing the following:
- Associating comments with individual rankings
- Deleting bad segments
- Editing segments
- Fine tuning any matching issues from flagged rankings
