Joy and I met Brian and Carol at Hillsboro Beach on A1A today at 10AM. We headed up the coast to Boynton Beach. It was a perfect day, low to mid 70s, not wind, clear and sunny. Not too much traffic heading north, but it was a bit busier heading south.
On the way up a rider pulled along side. It was my cycling buddy John. He saw my FB post about the planned ride yesterday and he had his eyes out for us. Just after he pulled off we had one unexpected stop when I dropped my water bottle. We stopped again at Atlantic Avenue in Delray for a short breather.
In Briney Breeze, Brian and Carol took us on a nice little detour through the neighborhood along the beach.
We made the turn at Boynton Beach Inlet. Stopped for about 15 min to have a bite and a break. It was then back south. At Atlantic Ave we made another unplanned stop when Joy's seat started to move a bit. After a quick adjustment we were heading south again. Arrived back at Hillsboro beach about 12:50. Brian and Carol parked beach side, but we parked at the cove on the west side of the Intercoastal. That proved to be smart as the traffic to cross the bridge was backed up pretty bad. We skooted over on the bike no problem. Looking forward to another ride wit them soon.
