# Coll de Pollastre

The @slice[Nacional II](d,9551.67,40943.6) is a coastal road that goes along the Catalan  [Maresme](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maresme) coast and is used by both motorized traffic and many cyclists as it's a perfect exit road towards the north (Calella, Tossa de Mar, Lloret de Mar and Sant Feliu de Guixols) or inlands to various climbs (La Vallensana, La Conreria, Coll de Alella, Coll d'Orrius, Coll de Parpers, Collsacreu and later the coastal roads to Tossa de Mar and Sant Feliu de Guixols).

As of @point[Sant Pol del Mar](d,40937.78) we go inland toward the rolling hills named @slice[Coll de Pollastre](d,42709.71,68054.57) with it's many corners and nice views through the forest.

There is a fair amount of climbing involved on this @slice[stretch](d,42709.71,68054.57) with some ramps up to 8% but mixed with some high speed decending it's the perfect mix for some good fun!

Once you are back in @point[Badalona](d,5951.69) @slice[along the beach](d,91315.34,93012.76) there are many bars and restaurants to re-fuel.

Also there is a 370m long @poi["bridge"](4855172) into the sea named **Pont de Petroli** from which you have a nice view on the [Maresme](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maresme) coast or Barcelona.

## Important Reminders

Dress to be visible to motorized traffic and bring a light (even during day time).

Along the coast the temperature is higher than inland through the forests, so don't dress only for the coastal road let's say.

## Best time to ride

An early departure on Saturdays and/or Sundays is recommended as traffic on the @slice[Nacional II](d,9551.67,40943.6) is still rather low at that time of day.

Departing early will very likely provide you with a lot local cycling groups to hook onto.
Traffic on the rolling hills of the @slice[Coll de Pollastre](d,42709.71,68054.57) is usually pretty low.
