The Open Street Maps on microSD cards are available for sale in our Online Shop as a less expensive alternative to the Garmin maps cards.

We have maps for the entire world. Map coverage is generally excellent inside the United States and Western Europe. These cards are topographic, meaning they include contour lines at higher zoom levels. If you would like to know how well your area is covered, our “RWGPS” styled maps present in our route planner are drawn using the same OpenStreetMap data as the cards. Please check this before ordering maps for use in Central/South America, Eastern Europe or Africa. Coverage in those places is generally good around cities, but can be spotty in rural areas.

If you’re not sure which region to get, this page shows the areas that each microSD card covers.

Supported Garmin devices:

  • Garmin Edge 1000
  • Garmin Edge 810
  • Garmin Edge 800
  • Garmin Edge Touring (Plus)
  • Garmin Edge 705
  • Garmin eTrex 20
  • Garmin eTrex 30
  • Garmin Oregon series
  • Garmin Montana series
  • Garmin GPSMap 60 Series

Some other units may be supported as well. If your GPS unit supports CityNav or other Garmin map products, these microSD cards will work.

These cards do not support inputting destination addresses into the device in order to rely on the GPS to route you,

Additionally, these cards are not recommended for use in the Garmin nĂ¼vi series or other car-navigation units.

The exact installation of the card will depend on your specific model. Consult the documentation provided by the manufacturer of your device.

We recommend turning the device OFF before inserting the microSD card then powering the device ON.
