This route starts on the outside of the Massanutten resort, winds through area farmland, a few small communities and one town along the way.
It starts at the resort water park, goes through Elkton, along the base of the mountain where the Shenandoah National Park is located, and returns through McGaheysville to the start location. It crosses the South Fork of the Shenandoah River twice.
This is a moderate length ride with minimal hills. It has one section with high speed traffic but most of it has very low traffic.
START: Adventure Dr., McGaheysville, VA 22840. The address is a short road that leads into the Massanutten Water Park.
The map start is from the back end of the furthest parking lot. It is 0.5 miles from the turn from Resort Drive to Bloomer Springs Road which is within the loop.
PARKING: There is public parking in the water park parking lot. Please use the spaces away from the water park.
DIFFICULTY/CHALLENGES: This is an intermediate ride with one section of high speed highway starting at the Elkton town limits (mile 8.0) for 2.0 miles.
DIRECTION: The map is laid out clockwise. It works well in reverse also.
FACILITIES ON ROUTE: Route starts at the Massanutten resort water park where there are parking and toilet facilities. There are a variety of services in Elkton at mile 7.5. There is a convenience store at mile 18.4.
