Another ‘Nominate leader’ for today’s Sunday long ride. Bernie looked visibly relieved as I picked the short straw from the collection that was on offer.
Thus it befell me to undertake the duties of ride leader for the day.
I decided on Costa Coffee at the Crown Chalfont St Giles for the 11s break.
5 supplicants followed me.
The route took us through Harefield, West Hyde and finally up past Horn Hill then descending into the village of C St G. John H left the ride after the break.
The lunch stop was to be the Plough in Hyde Heath with Little Missenden as an alternative. After coffee we continued on to Coleshill, Wynchmore Hill and Penn Street. It was at this point that Cliff pointed out that this was exactly the same route the group did on Wednesday. I was unaware of this as I had spent Wednesday at work. We passed through Little Missenden and ascended out of the valley to Hyde Heath for lunch at the Plough.
The return journey took us up through Pednor then Chesham, Chenies, Chorley Wood and Heronsgate where Cliff left for the easy option home. Iain, Bernie John Owen and I continued on through Rickmansworth, Northwood to finally disperse at Ruislip,

Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
