This 15.5 mile route heads 6 miles south out of Staunton with a gradual climb, 2-3% grade. It then takes you on a short 1.4 mile section of gravel on Arborhill road.
The ridge line offers a lovely view and is a great place to get your gravel feet wet. The return ride is downhill with rewarding views.

DIFFICULTY/CHALLENGES: This is a beginner/intermediate route because of Middlebrook Road (VA 252), and because of the 1.4 mile stretch of gravel on Arborhill. Arborhill is “friendly gravel” with little vehicle traffic.
