Bridgewater Dry River 17 miles

SHORT DESCRIPTION: This route goes through the farmlands in the Dry River area, historically used for time trialing by local cyclists. This is an easy ride, and as the cows you pass will tell you, this is as flat as it gets around here.

START: Wildwood Park, 622 W. Bank St., Bridgewater, VA 22812

PARKING: There is public parking at Wildwood Park, however, depending on the season, and day of the week, parking may be limited.

DIFFICULTY/CHALLENGES: This is a beginner level ride. Bicycle traffic on these roads is very common based on the Mennonite presence. VA 257 (mile 2.6 & mile 13.7) is a major county road which can be busy. SR 613 (mile 8.3) can also have higher traffic volumes, otherwise, traffic is fairly light on this route.

DIRECTION: This is an out-and-back, lollipop, route. The lollipop at the top is ridden in a clockwise direction.

FACILITIES ON ROUTE: Route starts in Bridgewater where there are multiple opportunities for food and rest rooms; most are located on Rt 42/Main Street. There are restrooms at Wildwood park but they are closed during cold months. Also, there is a small store in Lilly just off the route.
