The Bear at Maidenhead via Hurley

Hot, hot, hot. It Jean, Dave B, Cliff, Phil the Wheel and I (JW) set off on the hottest day of the year. We were unsure about attempting it. Elevenses at Beaconsfield, briefly meeting Terry G.who was out for a jaunt. Continuing thro Woburn Green, Bourn End and Marlow, we lost Dave, who had returned to pick up a broken bottle cage. We had no number for him and himself likewise. (A lesson learned) However he knew were the lunch stop was and we assumed he would go there.
Pushing thro Marlow we turned left crossing the Thames at Temple lock (see pic) Skirting Hurely we climbed over the hill to Maidenhead. To the Bear (Weatherspoons) pub.
Dave was sitting there guzzling his first pint of shandy. Well done Dave. Meals were of course very good with excellent value. Cliff had a cider and we had to wrestle him to the ground to stop ordering another.
On leaving we passed over Maidenhead Bridge thro Burnham resting at Burham Beeches Café. All the team did exceptional well in the plus 30 degree heat.
