Runnymede Air Forces Memorial

Eleven riders, John, Jim, Roy, Ray, Steve, Jean, Margaret, Steve, Stuart, Robert, and Alec left Uxbridge just as the rain started. A gloomy start. Heading towards Slough we crossed the canal at Langley aiming for Ditton Park. Over the M4 and thro Eton we arrived at Windsor Café.
Still raining, Jim said he had started to dissolve and wished to go home before be vanished.
The rest peddled on crossing Winsor Park to the Royal Airforce Memorial at Runneymede. I wish it had been in dryer circumstances to fully appreciate the amazing tribute, nonetheless is was a moving experience.
Down Priest Hill to the Bells of Ouzley, it was bully fooked fortunately a table had been reserved. We had to wait awhile, fortuitously the meals arrived all together and we enjoyed the experience. The aggregate bill was separated by the accounts, Ray and Roy. Well done.
It was agreed, with the weather not improving, we should head for home on the shortest route. Staying on the roads we zoomed through Dachet to Langley. Several of the back markers took a different route home.
