This mostly dirt road goes through a fairly remote part of the state, so traffic is low. The scenery is very interesting because it is a part of the state so few people go to. You might have to chase a cow off the road to get through in some places. I've seen flocks of wild turkeys there, as well as other wildlife. In October my wife and I make bets ahead of the ride on how many tarantulas we will see on the route. Bring plenty of water and food. There are no stores except at the little roadside stop called Raymond. Also, be prepared for the climb up Acton Grade. It is about a mile long and is super steep. This is a very enjoyable ride in Spring and Fall. Summers get pretty hot and the creeks and rivers dry up.
