Day 3: Mayagüez to San Juan
Day 3 of La Vuelta Puerto Rico takes participants through an impressive journey, covering the towns of Mayagüez, Añasco, Rincón, Aguada, Aguadilla, Isabela, Quebradillas, Camuy, Hatillo, Arecibo, Barceloneta, Manatí, Vega Baja, Vega Alta, Dorado, Toa Alta, Cataño, Guaynabo, and San Juan.
This final day is a showcase of Puerto Rico’s western and northern coasts, renowned for world-class surfing spots and breathtaking landscapes. All pelotons will make designated stops at rest points along the route.
Breakfast will be served in Aguada, energizing riders for a morning of scenic cycling. The route continues through the coastal towns of Aguadilla, Isabela, and Quebradillas, offering stunning ocean views and refreshing sea breezes. Riders will stop for lunch near the iconic Christopher Columbus Statue in Arecibo, a landmark that highlights Puerto Rico’s deep history.
From there, the journey heads east toward Dorado, home to the luxurious Watermill at Plantation in Dorado Beach Resort, where all three pelotons will converge. This unique gathering provides a unifying moment as the groups come together for the final leg of the journey.
As the sun begins to set, riders will make their triumphant entrance into San Juan, finishing at the Club Náutico de Puerto Rico. Greeted by cheering friends and family, participants will celebrate their accomplishment with a closing dinner and festivities, marking the perfect conclusion to three unforgettable days of cycling across Puerto Rico.
