An easy pedal with low traffic and plenty of rest stops to take in views of the lake and Coast Range mountains. Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy after the ride and don't forget to bring your swimsuit!

The scenery with views of the lake is outstanding. Although the bike lanes are on the road shoulders rather than separated, they are very wide and mostly clear of gravel. People occasionally park in them, so stay alert as you are rounding corners. Deer also will walk across them, and what they will do next can be unpredictable when approached by a bike. It's a great route for getting some varied climbing in. It is very hilly, with some of the hills steep (~8%) but none of them very long. I like to park in the lot on the west end of the dam and ride clockwise around the lake. A parking fee is required.
