This is one of the favorite routes of 2 NYC bike clubs for very good reasons. It features 3 crossings of Westchester's Croton Reservoir, the last one on top of the New Croton Dam ("new" circa 1906) with its unique semicircular spillway. Add to that the paved and car-free North County and South County Trails, a gorgeous semi-paved stretch along the south side of the reservoir, and a visit to the famed Blue Pig ice cream shop, and you have a winner.
