This route begins with the the Old Railroad Grade to Valsetz. It continues along the Siletz River Road for the next 15 miles. The return journey completes the lollipop back to the Old RR Grade via Sunshine Creek Road and Rock Creek Road. Notable points along the route are: The turn off to the road to the Valley of the Giants (Road 500) (at Mile 17.9); the turn off to Gravel Creek Road (which is the road to Drift Creek Falls and Lincoln City) (at Mile 18.9); the Weyerhaeuser gate (at Mile 19); and Valsetz Falls (at Mile 20.8).

Land ownership: This route is on roads that pass through lands owned by Hancock Forests, Giustina Resources, and Weyerhaeuser. Weyerhaeuser controls the gates at mile 19 and mile 32.5 and this segment is open for motorized and non-motorized access during weekends and non-motorized access during weekdays.
