This is one of my favorite rides in Bicycle Club of Irvine's repertoire. It's tops in several varieties of scenery: there are places along the route where you get great views of the ocean out to Catalina Island, you pass gorgeous neighborhoods where every house is top-notch in different ways, the road next to Newport Back Bay skirts wild wetland with waterbirds. Best done with a group, for safety in left-hand turns in traffic.
