Many of the roads were closed to traffic for the Double Bypass event. This route is not for beginners due to the elevation gain and fast descents. Also, bear in mind that there would be a considerable amount of traffic on a normal day. Winds can be quite intense at the top of Loveland Pass.
This was part of an organized event. To do this route on your own, there is lots of traffic on the mountain passes, and not a route for beginners. I highly recommend doing the Triple Bypass or the Double Bypass when the traffic is controlled by law enforcement.
