This is a well thought out route that feels like mostly gravel because the paved sections go quickly. Low to no traffic throughout and no guard dogs. There is a lot of climbing on this route that averages to over 100 feet per mile. A gravel bike with 40-50mm tires is appropriate. You could get away with skinnier tires on most of the route, but the "don't be a hero" descent is mountain bike terrain. It's a very scenic route with lots of time in the woods.
