Welcome to our Headwaters and Gold Mine Bike tour of a very interesting section of the Wolf Creek Watershed. This tour is a project of Sierra Express Bike Club and Wolf Creek Community Alliance, with generous support from the Schwemm Family Foundation.

You will start and end at a parking lot with bathrooms at Empire Mine State Historic Park (EMSHP).

On this headwaters tour, you will cross into the headwaters of four subwatersheds of the Wolf Creek watershed, including South Fork Wolf Creek, Little Wolf Creek, Rattlesnake Creek, and Woodpecker Ravine subwatersheds, all of which drain into Wolf Creek. Wolf Creek flows into the Bear River, which flows into the Feather, then the Sacramento River, and eventually out the Golden Gate into the Pacific Ocean. On this tour, we have stops with information about the watershed, as well as gold mining, cultural, and natural history. We hope you enjoy it. Have a great ride and stop occasionally to look around and learn about our Wolf Creek watershed!

Take a tour of the Wolf Creek Watershed, including Wolf Creek, Rattlesnake Creek and the South Fork of Wolf Creek.
