Only recommend for road confident riders as there are few wide shoulders and very few bike lanes. Some sections have been recently repaved but a lot of rough sections. Redeeming qualities are the views and notoriety of riding the North Shore. It's fun (and safer) as a group ride and even part of HBL's amazing event, a great experience.
