Although bike lanes come and go, the scenery of riding along the shores of this beautiful lake, Lake Tahoe, is stunning. The leg to and from Tahoe City to Truckee runs along the Truckee River, which flows out of the lake at Tahoe City. There is traffic, but cars are used to cyclists on this loop.

The event organizers did a good job of enhancing safety.
Riding this route with the AMBBR event is the way to go. Some sections have narrow shoulders and drivers can be distracted by the view. However, there is safety in numbers that the event provides, not to mention that they close lanes to traffic in some key areas. Great Event!
Some traffic lanes were closed for the event. Scenery is gorgeous.
