This is a great route for an overnight backpacking/gravel trip. Parking in downtown Wilkeson, and riding double track trail into Carbonado. Ride pavement after Carbonado, with great views of the Carbon River from the historic Fairfax Bridge. A National Park pass is required to enter Rainer National Park, overnight camping passes are available to stay at Lake Mowich Campground as well.
