This is a counter-clockwise route based on the Owasco Lake loop used in the past years and feedback from participants on how the route can be improved. This year's version includes a stop at the NYS Equal Rights Heritage Center and the Saturday market next door.
It begins by heading directly North out of Moravia on N. Main St. which turns to Rockefeller Rd and gives lake views as you traverse up the east side of the lake.
At 16 mi. enter the Auburn waterfront and Emerson Park. Public restrooms are available in the park. If you care not to stop at the NYS Equal Rights Heritage Center, this is itself a possible lunch stop. After visiting the Heritage Center you can find many lunch opportunities at the nearby Saturday outdoor market or at any one of the several eateries in the immediate area.
The route then turns back toward the lake and onto West Lake Road which transitions to become Route 38 heading south, along Owasco Lake's west shore line.
At about 27 mi, you begin the last climb of the day out of Auburn toward Moravia which you enter at about mile 37.
