The South Mountain Road descent provides a perfect flow state. The gravel along the Hudson River is hard-packed and smooth with a few washed-out sections. It's rideable with a road bike. You should get a donut at Boxer Donut in Nyack when you pass through. They have a water spigot outside for filling water bottles.
