Coraline's Curious Cat Trail is an art installation in Portland, Oregon from August 2 through October 13, 2024. It consists of 31 beautifully and uniquely painted cat sculptures, each about 5 feet tall, positioned at various locations in and around downtown Portland. This 5.7-mile loop route starts at a downtown sculpture and ascends into the hills west of downtown to visit the two high-elevation sculptures. The 29 other low elevation sculptures are on a separate route listed further down in this description.
Check out the elevation profile for this route before riding it. The route can be as steep as a 12% grade going up to the highest elevation of 927 feet. These two cats were combined into one route to take advantage of the elevation already gained riding up to the International Rose Test Garden before proceeding furthur up to the Pittock Mansion.
The POI (point of interest) markers on the route give further details on each cat. Hover over or click or tap each POI marker for these details. The markers are also at the exact location of each cat, so zoom in all the way if you don't immediately see the cat upon riding to its location.
These cats are not directly next to a roadway, so it is necessary to get off the bike and walk along a path to them. This is particularly true at the Rose Garden, which is usually crowded with pedestrians.
