Start at Ohlone College in Fremont and ride north to Niles Canyon Road to Palomares Road. Ascend Palomares to the summit, then enjoy a beautiful 5-mile descent to the Palomares Elementary School rest stop. From there travel the historic Lincoln Highway over the Dublin grade then ride Foothill Rd and through Holdener Park and to a rest stop at Rios Lovell Winery. From there go to Sunol Glen School for another rest stop before the big climb Calaveras Road with a view of the Calaveras Reservoir. Go down “The Wall” (life is good!) and descend three miles lto the Spring Valley rest stop. Finally, back to Fremont along flat roads, some rollers and--to remind you of all the climbing you did--short kickers up Warren Ave and Paseo Padre Parkway.
