Sea Ranch Fort Ross and King Ridge

The view after the second climb (on King Ridge) is magnificent – a panorama from atop a spine of rock and dirt known as the Butcher’s knife. To the north, one can see 20 miles of grassy ridges, peaks, and inhospitable canyons. To the southwest, the effect of earthquakes is evident as wooded canyons appear torn into the landscape as if scraped by the claws of some giant predator.
