Beautiful road with barely any traffic (caveat: we did it on the one warm day we had in early spring). Mostly flat road - great for intervals or a good conversation!
We rode from the Best Western Motel. Our mileage out and back was 40. Being spring the natural vegetation was green which was a plus for us. Also, being spring, the river was high and brown, probably a minus. I’m sure the river is clear most of the year. Little traffic on a Tuesday, great experience overall.
Beautiful & diverse views of winding river, farmlands, mountains & rock formations, high desert . The road is shared with vehicles, but only 4 passed me during the 18 mile ride. Be prepared for wind! Nice campgrounds along the way. Would also be a great place to kayak.
This is a beautiful ride in the Crooked River Canyon. I had to stop at each bend in the road to take a photo.
