Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.

I figured out how to mount my camera, but I couldn't pair with my phone so I decided to not waste time trying to get it to work and took off without it. I wish I would have had it. There were many photo opportunities on this ride. It is so beautiful in the morning. Also, at about a mile from home near the end of my ride, a deer bolted across Ridgeside not 20 feet in front of me. Had the camera been working, it would have been taking pictures every second (that is how I typically run it) and would have captured two or three photos of it. Oh well.
I felt good on this ride once I got going. The first two miles my legs were feeling stiff and tired. But, once I got warmed up it was good. This route has a lot of climbing in it - Freeman is one of the favorites amongst locals who train.
The shifting issues I noticed yesterday were still there today and even worse, happening in both downshifts and upshifts. I need to talk to the bike shop and ask, "What gives? I just had you do a major tune-up and it is not shifting well."
Great ride this morning!
