Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.

Today is the first day on my new tires that I am riding this ride. I started out with the expectation that this would give me a good indication of how much a performance boost these tires are giving me. I did expect to be faster, but I didn't try to race it to get better. I just rode a nice steady pace.
The road was a lot smoother than in the past. This, notwithstanding the myriad of places where sand had washed over the road and been "mostly" scraped off. There were still patches of sand to go over, which is more than there was in the past.
I felt good and strong but also a little tired in places.
I had my cycling camera on with the hopes that I would get the GPS data in the pictures. I think it is there, but when I upload the pictures we will see.
At the end of the ride coming up the steep hill on Ridgeside, I knew I was doing well as I never shifted out of my middle chainring. That is a first for being on a trike. I compared this effort with the previous two highest on the trike and I did it in 22 seconds less time over the 0.16 miles. That is more than 2 mph faster! It was really good.
I compared my overall time with the previous best on the trike, and I was 1 minute 19 seconds faster, or an average of 13 mph to 12.6 mph.
I enjoyed my ride today.
