I started out today with a plan to take an easy ride in places where there are relaxing and enjoyable views. I stuck to that plan. I planned to entitle this ride something like "Enjoying the scenery." Near the end of riding through Forty Niners Country Club, as I passed a house where a father was bring his kids out toward the road, his young daughter exclaimed, "Look at that AWESOME bike!" That was awesome to hear and it changed the title for this ride. A little later on, nearing the exit from 49ers, I came upon a golf cart driven by a woman and what appeared to be her three children. One boy was looking out the right side staring back at me and never stopped looking. His sister became interested and looked back also. Being in the mood to soak up praise, I increased my speed so I caught up to them. I slowed to not go along side, but the mother turned and looked at me and said, "Go ahead. You are faster than us."
This was all very enjoyable.
As I was heading home along Speedway, some Toyota Prius, I think driven by a high school kid, came up right behind me then sped past as he laid on the horn. It seemed aimed to startle me.
This is the first time in several months I have had a motorist be an idiot.
I started to grumble about it, but then decided I wasn't going to let that incident take away from the pure enjoyment I had been feeling. So I stopped thinking about it and thought about the enjoyment.
I loved this ride. It is nice to have rides that are all about enjoying nature and joyous things around.
