Started riding in 2010 weighing 285lbs and trying to get down to the same weight I was when I finished College at 185. I was only able to ride 5 miles a day which was 6 miles short of reaching my work office downtown Portland for the first seven months, but I did make progress. I started getting really serious 2011 an bought a cheap 10 speed bike and bought clip less pedals and was able to ride to work and back with no problem. Started riding bike races and events. Now with my weight in the 190’s and averaging around 100 miles a week I can truly say cycling has saved my life.
