Route Details

Starting out on the paved @point[Wherrol Flat Road](d,14.12) with rolling farmland. Turn left into @point[Big Run Road](d,8467.08) for your first taste of gravel and finish getting your legs warmed up as once you hit the 12.5km mark on Dingo Tops Road the @slice[climbing begins](d,12479.99,29538.71).

With some good views glimpse through the trees along the way there is only a little respite until you get to the @photo[Dingo Tops Campground](12566892).

Have a rest and a bite to eat before heading off along @point[Knodingbul Road](d,29725.03). This forest road is a bit up and down but does eventually head back down into the valley to join @point[Nowendoc Road](d,63136.37). That short bit of pavementm doesn't last long as you turn left onto @point[Black Flat Lane](d,63893.06) for the final gravel stretch back to your cars.

# Route

* Small amount of parking on Wherrol Flat road where Black Flat Lane joins it. With more @poi[parking](64710139) space a few hundred meter further up the road.
* Left turn onto the gravel for @point[Big Run Road](d,8457.72) followed but a right hand turn at the 11.4km mark to get you onto @point[Dingo Tops Road](d,11393.87), gravel.
* Climb Dingo Tops road for approximately 19km to get to the @poi[Dingo Tops Campground](64710141).
* Hang a left onto @point[Knodingbul Road](d,29728.17) which is a gravel forest road that has some ups and downs but will end up being mostly down...
* Hitting the pavement again turn left at @point[Nowendoc Road](d,63141.05) and sty on pavement for less than 1km and then turn left onto @point[Black flat lane](d,63884.65).

* Black flat lane is your last gravel stretch before arriving back at the cars.

# Notes

* No drinking water or supply point on route.
* Generally rideable in all weather conditions however can get quite cold up in the tops and the weather can be quite different between the valley and the tops . Good idea to @photo[pack a jacket](12566884) even if it is nice and warm down in the vally.
* @point[Creek crossing](d,70200.5) towards the middle of Black Flat Lane can have water over it but is mostly passable except in very wet condition - check with a local before heading out.

* Road condition is usually very good so any gravel or mountain bike will be sufficient for these roads.

# Alternate route

There is an alternate or variation to this route if you so desire. At the @point[15.6km](d,15650.65) mark you can turn left and take the @point[Potoroo Forest Road](d,15657.55). This will take you down to @photo[Potoroo Falls](12566885), which is a short walk up the creek, before climbing back out to join Knodingbul Road at about the @point[44.5km point](d,44733.88).

Taking this variant will make the route approximately 61km long with 1700m of climbing.
