About the Club

Based in the county town of Suffolk, England and founded in 1892 our club is one of the oldest in the Eastern counties. Our aim is promote all aspects of cycling both competitive as well as for pleasure and transportation.

At present we have about 200+ members who participate in all types of events ranging from clubs runs, Audax and touring to Time-Trials, Road Racing, track (both hard and grass track), MTB and Cyclo-Cross.

In particular we have enjoyed many off road successes in cyclo-cross and mountain bike races and this is where many of our members excel. This is also an ideal way for youngsters to start, as there are no traffic worries. Most events run an under 12’s race.

The club is managed by a committee of volunteer members elected annually. The governance of the club is laid out in its open and non-discriminatory constitution supported by its membership rules.

Ipswich Bicycle Club is affiliated to the following organisations:

• British Cycling Cycling Time Trials (formerly the RTTC)
• Cyclists’ Touring Club (CTC)
