Heading north from Cambria there is something on this route to see around every turn. On this route, you'll hug the coastline as you ride along Moonstone Beach before entering onto the iconic Highway One, ending in Gorda.

From the Pacific Ocean’s famed Elephant Seals to a 140-year-old light station on a rugged, windswept coastal point, when you head north from Cambria there is something to see around every turn. Hug the coastline as you ride along Moonstone Beach before entering onto the iconic Highway One.

* Park at the Veteran's Memorial Building in Cambria
* Head towards the coast
* Just before San Simeon, stop to see the @poi[Hearst Castle Zebras](1377267)
* Keep an eye for the @poi[elephant seals](1377274) & @poi[Piedras Blancas Lighthouse](1377275)
* After mile 22, the climbs are steeper
* Please take note, there is little to no shoulder from @slice[Mile 16.5 to Ragged Point](d,26596.39,36872.07)
* @point[Ragged Point (Mile 23)](d,36970.32) is a great place to take a break and see the view

# Notes
* It can be extremely windy. Dress appropriately.
* Required fitness level to enjoy route
* The best stop is the @poi[Hearst Ranch Winery](1377270). Consider stopping on your way back to town. 
* Starting from the bathroom rest stop just north of Centrally Grown, the shoulder on the right is wide.
* Shoulder starts to get tight when entering San Simeon, widens back out after going through town.
* Shoulder continues to stay wide to Hearst Castle.
* Shoulder disappears 6.1 miles from the bathroom rest stop, and tightens off and on for about 2 miles.
* There is little to no shoulder 9.5 miles from bathroom rest stop.
* At the Piedras Blancas Motel, the shoulder widens a little bit until 13 miles past bathroom rest stop.
* 14 miles past bathroom rest stop - no shoulder.
* 18 miles from bathroom rest stop - steep climb and hairpin turn with no shoulder.
* Ragged Point is 19.5 miles from bathroom rest stop - road is closed here due to construction.
