Those whoops and hollers in the woods at Sandy Ridge aren’t Bigfoot but your fellow riders expressing their overwhelming joy. You can see it in their loam-eating grins as they blast back into the trailhead after rallying an unending collection of deep berms, blazing fast straightaways, and chunky rock gardens.

# Route Details
There are innumerable ways to link together the trails to suit your riding skill, amount of time, and desire for vertical. The following route highlights all the fun and is typically in good shape regardless of season. The trails are directional so you can push it to the limit, and then push it a little further. Don’t worry, as some of the country’s best trail builders have spent the better part of a decade shaping and tuning the trails for your riding pleasure.

From the well-appointed parking lot you start by @slice[climbing a paved road](d,0,5581.15) that is closed to traffic. With a stream of riders heading up the hill it’s a social event so feel free to chat with folks about current conditions or their favorite post-ride grub spot.

At the upper trailhead you jump onto singletrack and @slice[keep climbing](d,5581.15,6920.1) to the top of Communication Brakedown. The system is dense but the intersections have signs to keep you moving in the right direction. The last few switchbacks are steep and your legs will let you know that you’ve just climbed 1,200’, so take a few minutes to enjoy the view at the top before you sprint into the first descent.

From the summit, @point[Communication Brakedown](d,6888.28) drops quickly through rocky terrain with a blizzard of tight, steep turns. It spits you into the rock garden on @slice[Quid Pro Flow](d,7631.94,9557.46) so keep your momentum and keep pedaling. Several small drops then lead to a set of wide-open jumps and side hits for your first taste of airtime. The trail flows into a mellow climb, merges into @slice[Three Thirty-Eight](d,9557.46,10227.73), and takes you to another viewpoint of Mt. Hood.

After you catch your breath, drop to your left into @slice[Two Turntables and a Microwave](d,10227.73,11901.29), and hold on. The trail starts with some moderate-sized tables then quickly gets hair-ball fast as you rocket across the hillside. Go as fast as you dare and then let your adrenaline subside once you make it to @point[the scenic bridge overlook of Little Joe Creek](d,11989.99).

The last descent is @slice[Lower Hide and Seek](d,12172.63,14253.21), where the mellower terrain allows you to regain your confidence and rip the hero dirt. See if you can grab the wheel of a local and have them show you the small booters and accelerator berms that will help you unlock the ultimate flow. You’re guaranteed to be exhausted but giggling by the time you blast back into the trailhead. *Anyone up for another lap?*
