A medium length but challenging road ride starting and ending in downtown Wadsworth, Ohio. Most of the ride will be rural roads surrounding Wadsworth. Expect some climbs! Fuel up with coffee and breakfast at Sonnets, recharge with lunch at Valley Cafe, and then wind down with a beer at Wadsworth Brewing Company.

Routedetails

This is a mashup ride around Wadsworth.  It is mostly paved roads but mixes in a little gravel and two-track.  Nothing extreme -- most road bike tires should be fine.  It's hilly with a few good climbs.  No rest stops are planned.  The route starts at Sonnets Cafe and ends at Valley Cafe and Wadsworth Brewing Company.  Plan for 3 hours of moving time.

## Route

* Park behind Sonnets in the @poi[public parking ](8667058).
* Coffee and/or breakfast at @poi[Sonnets](8666795).
* Ride starts by meandering for a couple miles down the @slice[Wadsworth Interurban Trail](d,326.34,3448.5), past the @poi[Trolley Line House](8666788).   *The second mile of this trail is gravel.*  
* The bulk of the ride is on the outskirts of town, down semi-hilly roads.
* The final parts of the route return through the north side of town, going for a quiet visit through a cemetary, through a park, and back around to @poi[Valley Cafe](8666792) for lunch.
* A short sprint to the finish line at @poi[Wadsworth Brewing Company](8666793).

## Notes

* Most of the @slice[Interurban Trail](d,206.33,3297.46) (the first two miles of the route) parallels a road, so the road can be taken in leui of the trail.  Only the @slice[last leg](d,2640.84,3325.32) of the Interurban Trail (which is gravel at that point) does not have a parallel route.  *An alternate route up Silvercrest to Silver Creek can be taken for those whose tires can't tolerate any gravel.  This route bypasses the Trolley Line House.*
* A bike that is good on the road is necessary. Most of the miles are on rural roads, as well as some urban streets, and even a mile on a highway.
* Lights and bright clothes recommended for visibility. A few segments are on busier roads.  Sunday morning is a good time to avoid much of the traffic.
* You should be in decent shape to ride this route.  There are a few steep and drawn out climbs.
* Food, water, other beverages, bathroom facilities, etc. are available at the start and end of the route.  The remainder of the route is fairly rural.  Bring enough water and snacks to get you through a 3 hour ride.
* Bike repair stations are located @poi[downtown](8666789) and at the @poi[Trolley Line House](8666788), both of which are at the beginning of the route.
