The Mantua Getaway combines smooth pavement, gravel roads, and ATV trails to provide a challenging and rewarding gravel loop. Tough climbs are rewarded with great views on this remote route.

Route Details

The Mantua Getaway (pronounced man-a-way) begins with a quick lap around the reservoir and then a climb up 89. Highway 89 may be busy later in the day but it has a very large shoulder. From there the route leaves the highway and shortly begins to @photo[descend](12974924) into Paradise. The @poi[paradise park](84077106) has a waterspout at the back of the building that likely will be available to use. There are also opportunities to filter water around mile 22-28. Enjoy the beautiful gravel climb as you head south of Avon.

After the gravel climb, turn West onto the forest service trail. There will likely be ATV traffic on this trail. It is relatively technical so the ATVs are not likely to be going fast. I have had good experiences sharing this trail but you may want to go early in the morning or on a weekday if you prefer less ATVs. This section is the hardest and will likely require all but the strongest gravel riders to walk for a bit. Take your time and enjoy the scenery! The ride finishes with a fast descent into Mantua.

This route is a **ton of fun but is very tough**. There is limited resupply throughout the ride and many of the sections are chunky. Ride safe and have fun!

# Important Reminders
* Water is likely available from @point[Paridise Park](d,27178.18) or possibly filter from the creek. If the water fountain is turned off use the spigot on the back of the building.
* Bring all your food with you as there are not any spots to get more.
* This route uses chunky ATV trails and I would not recommend anyone to ride it with tires smaller than 700c x 40mm.
