This ride packs a lot of adventure into 21 miles, with 9 miles of gravel around Lake Youngs Reservoir, some steep hills with grades up to 9%, 1,250 feet of elevation gained and lost, and a bit of single track as an option. Well worth the effort for the solitude and the wildlife. Lots of deer to be seen, and the location feels more remote than it actually is. There are not many views of the lake because the tree cover is very dense.

*Note: The parts of the route marked in blue on the map are places where you can choose between single-track dirt and riding on the street (with a good shoulder or low traffic).*

The ride starts at the @poi[Lake Meridian Trailhead](102270447) of the Soos Creek Trail. After 4.7 miles of bike trail, you turn right off of the trail on @point[Lake Youngs Way/SE 204th Way](d,7503.16), and proceed 0.4 miles up the hill, where you turn @point[right on SE 200th St.](d,25317.56) and go another 1/2 mile East to the Lake Youngs Trail.

Cross 148th Ave. SE and Turn left (North) on the trail to circle the lake in a clockwise direction. After about a mile, the trail turns East. At mile 7.5 you run into the steepest section of the route, with that @slice[short stretch of 9% grade](d,12104,12515.69). After that the trail zigs and zags through the Northwest section until you get to SE Lake Youngs Road at mile 9.6. This is the first of two sections (marked in blue on the map) where you can choose between single track dirt or riding on the street.  At mile 10.4 The trail turns right (West), and then after 3 more turns you arrive at SE 224th St. (mile 12.1) where you again have a choice of single track or street.

At mile 13, the trail turns right (North) and jogs through several turns through the Southwest corner of the loop, until you get back to 148th Ave. SE where,  If you are feeling extra frisky, you can take @point[SE 216th St West](d,22895.39) to the @poi[Soos Creek to Lake Youngs Trail](89462297) (at mi 14.2) back to Soos Creek,  but beware – it is @photo[extra steep and very overgrown](14033153) (when test ridden). Otherwise, follow the trail North Along 148th until you get back to SE 200th St. where you turn left (West) and follow 200th to 140th Ave. SE. Turn left and follow Lake Youngs Way Back to the Soos Creen Trail at mile 16.2. Turn left on the Soos Creek Trail and follow the trail South for 4.7 more miles and up one last hill to the starting point at the Lake Meridian Trailhead at mile. 20.9. 
 
 The nearby @poi[Lake Meridian Park](102274397) is a great place for a cool down swim or a picnic after your ride, or if you just need a restroom!
