This ride is all paved roads and takes a few different cycling paths. It goes up to to "le molard", down to Aubonne, and takes the corniche at Bougi-Villars. I think the corniche is one of the most beautiful places to ride in the region.

Want a great road ride which is full of breathtaking views and nice hills? Then this is a gem ;) In other words, this ride is one of my favorites. It's not particularly long, but its still a bit of a challenge.

My recommendation is to start from the @poi[Nyon train station](104515263) (back side) when you will find the @poi["roulotte" ](103593436)(it's a great place to have a coffee or eat a healthy snack). Intersting fact about the "roulotte", all of the food they serve is local, seasonal, and prepared each day. It's also a non-profit association.

This ride is all road. It's ideal to ride in the late spring, summer, and fall. There is the @poi[risk of snow and ice above Burtigny](104515266), so be careful from about November to March.

There are a few alternatives to this ride which might be interesting. Here is one if [you don't have much time and want to do just the Mollard without the 2nd climb nor the Corniche](https://ridewithgps.com/routes/44032648). Another option is to [start from the Rolle train station](https://ridewithgps.com/routes/44206218) which makes the ride about 30KM

# Route
* The ride starts out mostly flat along cycling @photo[route 1](14365565). After gland, there is the @photo[first climb](14286043) to the @photo["Molard"](14286041) and then a second climb after "Burtigny". From there, there is a long down hill to "Gimel", then to "Aubonne". From Aubonne, the ride goes to "Bougy-Villars" via the @poi[corniche](104515268) (it's a magical place).
* Gimel is a good place to stop and have some @poi[water ](103593437)in the shade. There are a few restaurants and a fountain in the center.
* In Aubonne there is a great bicycle shop called @poi["rochat cycle"](103593438). It's one of the best in the region.
* My recommendation is to take time to enjoy the views during this ride. Don't hesitate to stop.
* At the end of the ride, there is a great café in central Nyon called @poi["La tete de course"](103593435). It's the local cyclist's hang-out.

# Notes
* As mentioned above, make sure there is no snow or ice on the road, especially above Burtigny in the winter months.

# Tips
* If you want to @poi[store a bag](104515265) or other items you don't want to carry during the ride, leave them in one of the lockers at the train station.
* Next to the "Roulotte" there are @poi[bike racks](104515264) if you want to lock your bike and tour the old town of Nyon. 
* In the Nyon old town, go through the castle - there is no entrance fee - there is an amazing @poi[view of the lake](104515389).
