This route goes through Sycamore Canyon including the vortex trail as well as the national Juan Bautista trail 1776. For more info see https://www.nps.gov/juba/planyourvisit/maps.htm. Lastly, you'll encounter some communication towers heard around the world. If you want to cut down some miles, you can cut right instead of left and go to the marina. If you want to add miles and get something to eat, you can do the route as intended and work your way back to the marina instead of exiting Lake Perris

You'll find ample parking at the begining of the route as it begins in a church parking lot. As you leave the lot, you'll go straight into dirt single/double track and then up to the vortex trail - nice and flowy. Squiggle your way to the exit and ride along the fence to exit. Cross the street and hop back into Sycamore Canyon reserve. Ride through the park and pop out at the Jensons bike warehouse where you will ride some road to get into Moreno Valley. From here, it feels like a secret tour of the city as you jump from dirt to road back and forth, limiting your exposure as much as possible with traffic. This route has lots of history including parts of the the [national Juan Bautista trail 1776](http://nps.gov/juba/planyourvisit/maps.htm). Work your way through DG around nice neighborhoods to the @photo[water silos](14541221). Next, make your way to the back side of Lake perris through remote dirt roads. When entering into lake perris it can be a bit sandy in places, but we have done this with 38mm Pathfinder Pros. Once in the lake, enjoy the scenery while passing rock climbers as you make your way across the dam. POI's indicate @photo[marina food](14541210) (which is amazing) as well as a @poi[restroom stop](107114394) and an outdoor shower. Lastly, look out for the @poi[communication towers](107114393) heard around the world.
