This ride will take 13th street and Creston Road to get out of town to Linne Road where you will find the Huer Huero Creek. You will follow back country roads that following the Huer Huero until you climb away from it past the town of Creston.

The ride starts in downtown Paso Robles at the @poi[City Park](1118736).  There is plenty of food, water, and restrooms in the area to get you off to a good start.  This ride will wander out of town going East on 13th Street.  This turns into Creston Road after you cross over the bridges.  You will turn left off Creston Road and follow Sherwood Road.  There are a few right and left turns of this main road and it becomes Linne Road.  Linne Road is where you will start following the @poi[Huer Huero creek](1118740).  The origin of the name is unknown and isn't pronounced like it looks.  The "H" in both words has a "W" sound like in the word "whirl".  Now you will sound just like a local.  The route is going to be in the general area and direction of the creek for the next 14 miles.  You are going to be on rural roads with vineyards, wineries, horse ranches, and farms.  The town of @poi[Creston](1118741) is on the ride and a good place to stop and take a break.  There is a store there for food, water, and restrooms.  The route continues on towards Santa Margarita.  When you leave the Huer Huero you will start into some climbing rollers until you reach the top.  The downhill can be fun as it is twisty but the road is a little bit narrow and it gets tight if there is oncoming traffic.  A short climb on Highway 58 will get you to one of my favorite downhills.  You will drop down to the Salinas River after the curvy downhill.  Ride on to Santa Margarita where there is a nice @poi[park](1118747) for restrooms, and water.  The route turns towards Atascadero but a left turns takes you to some @poi[food places](1118743) in Santa Margarita.  El Camino Real is now what you are riding on or "The Kings Highway".  This is the route the Spanish used to travel from one mission to the next.  You are going to follow in general the Salinas River downhill from here to Paso Robles.  The ride enters into the outskirts of Atascadero and then crosses the Salinas to take rural roads to Templeton bypassing Atascadero.  You will ride Main Street in Templeton which has a @poi[park](1118749) for water and restrooms.  The Park is only a block off of Main Street.  There are many places to get @poi[food and drinks](1118744) in Templeton and they are right there on Main Street.  When you leave Templeton you will ride the frontage roads of US Highway 101 back to Paso Robles.

* @poi[Creston Farms](1118739) which was orginally a stud farm for race horses. You should still see the buildings and race track on this large acreage.
* @poi[Creston Country Store](1118741) is a great place to rest regroup and get some food and water.
* @poi[Santa Margarita Park](1118747) for restrooms, water, picnic area, and a nice place to take a break.
* @poi[Wildhorse Winery](1118748) Great wines if you want to taste some wine.
* @poi[Templeton Park](1118749) for restrooms, water, picnic area, and a nice place to take a break.
* @poi[Templeton Feed and Grain](1118742) is the really big building in town right next to Main Street.
* @poi[Habaneros](1118745) You might be hungry after all that riding and this is a great place for Mexican food.  It is only one block from the end of the ride.  Bike parking is right there just for you.
