This 34 km ride is totally off-road, and leads to two very amazing waterfalls! The roads are non-paved, and the altimetry is not too tough! The road crosses the river several times, and we ride several bridges. If you get lucky, like in the day the pictures were taken, it has rained during the two days before the ride, and the river has overflowed. The water covers most of the bridges, and you'll cross with water between 0.2 and 0.4 m deep over the bridges.

# Route

* You can leave the car(s) parked at any place in @point[Barra do Ouro](d,33870.86), a small village with no parking fees.
* The first part of @slice[the route is quite flat](d,0,7788.37).  There's not too much to climb!
* Nice places to take pictures, including a @photo[wooden bridge](840527) and several @photo[concrete bridges](840526), where we often see water crossing over native forests.
* The two waterfalls are the climax of the ride. At @poi[Garapiá Falls](1121218), it is not possible to ride the bike for the last 100m, but it is easy to carry it by hand until the shore of the fall's pool. The @poi[Forqueta Waterfall](1121215), on the other hand, you have to leave the bike and walk in the forest for 800m.
* No big climbs or descents. 
* Beware of the irregularity of the course: holes, loose stones, some sticks! When it rains, there will be @photo[mud and puddles](840536), moreover, the bike can slide in descents or during braking.

# Notes

* Best seasons to go are spring and summer; during the winter fog will hinder sightseeing and brings the cold.
* The route can be increased by 20km, leaving the cars at @poi[Maquiné City](4492434).
* Don´t forget extra tubes, an airpump, warm clothes (mainly early in the morning).
* Riders must be experienced in 3 to 4 hours bike trips.  Despite of the short distance and the slow speed, it takes a long time to finish.
* Since it is in the countryside, it is advisable to carry or buy something to eat (banana, cereal bars, cookies, etc.) at village Barra do Ouro, before starting the ride.
* Bring a hydration backpack, a water bottle only may not be sufficient.
