A very scenic and very hilly century route in Southern Indiana, designed by Melissa H. who lives and rides many long rides in this region of Indiana. She knows all the best hills.

Make sure your fitness level will allow you to enjoy this route and that the gearing on your bicycle suits the amount of climbing on this route. This may not be a good route to tackle in the summer heat, it was a very beautiful ride on the last day of October.

The ride starts at @point[Love's Truck Stop](d,17.37) in Memphis, IN. There you can stock up on any food or beverage items, other stores along the way provide opportunity to keep the calories stoked. You get 5 miles to warmup before the first climb wakes up your legs. @slice[The climb up Bartle Knob Rd. is a tough one](d,8282.81,10552.11), but the view from the top makes it worth the effort.

Winding along Daisy Hill Rd. for a few miles then the road drops down into [Borden, IN](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Borden,_Indiana). Punchy rollers and more significant climbs all along the route add to the comulative vertical gain of around 8500 ft. Passing through Martinsburg, IN we made our first store stop around mile 26 in [Palmyra, IN](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palmyra,_Indiana). We pass through Depauw, IN and Milltown, IN.

The next town is [Marengo, IN](http://www.marengocave.com/). Just past Marengo at mile 49.8 we stopped for lunch at a little roadside cafe, [Van's Country Table](http://plus.google.com/102300921622546909705/about?hl=en-US).

We pass through Hardinsburg, IN on our way to the last store stop at New Pekin, IN at mile 82. Our last memorable climb is at mile 90, the road goes up @slice[Williams Hill Rd](d,144723.97,145650.97). where we follow the reverse of the outbound route for the last 10 miles and get to enjoy the downhill on Bartle Knob Rd.

@poi[Van's County Table](1565249) was a great place to stop for lunch. This is a great route, but it is hilly with many climbs plus the ever present rollers.
