Route Details

A safe, easy ride from the Montgomery County suburbs into the rural heart of Bucks County. Two-thirds of the 35-mile trip are on @photo[@slice[paved trails](d,12730.77,26459.09)](1424277) completely buffered from the road.

The turnaround point is the picturesque county seat,  Doylestown, where a farm market or a cafe helps you fuel up for the return.

# Route

* Start from the @photo[Upper Dublin playing fields](1424272) with safe parking and 24x7 bathrooms
* Enjoy views of a local 'castle' and the @photo[homes built for the lesser lords](1424273).
* Pass through the @poi[quaint town of Ambler](1736111) with its share of restaurants, cafes and bakeries 
* Glide through the @poi[Gwynedd Mercy College campus](1736096), one of two college campuses on the tour.
* Then pick up the @photo[Route 202 trail at its southern edge](1424277) and ride above the commercial 309 corridor, past neighborhoods, woods and farmland to the @poi[Delaware Valley Market](1736093) with food and amenities
* Loop through @photo[Delaware Valley College](1424276) and take a brief detour along a @photo[stream-side trail](1424274) before returning on the 202 trail.

# Notes

* Good any time of the year, but especially when you wish a car-free ride.
* It's easy to add to the route on either end. The ride out of the city will add 15-20 miles each way and from Doylestown you can easily reach New Hope and Lumberville on the Delaware River.
* Bring enough water for a 15-mile ride. Water and food are plentiful in Doylestown.
* The ride is relatively flat with a few hills on the 202 trail.
