This route will take you around the trails at the Bureau of Land Management's (BLM) Meadowood Recreation Area hitting all of the main loop and the three internal trails, including Boss, Stinger and Yard Sale. The Meadowood mountain bike trail is a new addition to Fairfax County and Northern Virginia, and the only BLM trail in the east coast, and offers riders of all levels many challenges. This route will take you through several trails in mature hardwood forests in the Mason Neck Peninsula.

Route Details

**The Bureau of Land Management Meadowood mountain bike trails are a hit with riders of all skill levels.** In addition to an easy to navigate perimeter loop, the Meadowood mountain bike trails include three internal trails (The Boss Trail, Stinger, and Yard Sale) that offer intermediate to advanced mountain bikers several man made features to test their skills on, including  a set of high wooden berms, several rock obstacles and multiple opportunities to take your bike airborne. The Meadowood mountain bike trail is documented in both Mountain Biking The Washington D.C./Baltimore Area (5th) and Best Rides Washington D.C..

# Route

* @poi[Park](1948618) at the new lot along Gunston Road.
* Alternate Parking is available on @poi[Colchester Road](1948617) and @poi[Belmont Blvd](1948619).
* As soon as you enter the trail, turn right at the first intersection to follow the perimeter loop in a counterclockwise direction.
* All of the internal trails (Boss, Stinger, and Yard Sale) are directional.
* Continue riding the perimeter loop until you reach the entrance to the @point[Boss Trail](d,2111.95). The Boss Trail includes several man made features, incuding an @poi[elevated boardwalk](1948611) two big wood berms and several jumps and rock gardens. All of the features are easily rideable and contain alternate lines for less experienced riders. Once you reach the exit of the Boss Trail turn left to continue riding the permiter loop in a counterclockwise direction. You will pass the entrance to the Boss trail and continue to the @point[entrance of Stinger](d,5959.47).
* Turn left on Stinger to ride the narrow singletrack of this internal trail. Stinger contains no man made features and simply hugs the countours to provide a narrow singletrack experience. Once you reach the exit of Stinger turn left to continue riding the permiter loop in a counterclockwise direction. You will pass the entrance to Stinger and conntinue to the @point[entrance of Yard Sale](d,7505.78).
* Turn left on Yard Sale. Yard Sale is a flow trail with several jumps. Lots of riders will simply make their way to Yard Sale and session it. Once you reach the exit of Yard Sale turn left to continue riding the perimeter loop in a counetrclockwise direction. You will pass both the entrance to Stinger and Yard Sale on your way back to the starting point.
* Riders will often ride the permieter loop in both directions hitting all internal trails at least once for a little over 11 miles of riding.
