Route Details

# General Information
* **Route**.  Paved, 89 mile long loop starting in Clarskburg (MD), going north passing Union Bridge and reaching Taneytown, then turning south to Damascus and ending in Clarksburg.  
* **Route profile**.  This is an endless rolling ride.  It does not have long climbs, but after so many up and downs your legs get realy tired.  Excellent for training.   
* **Start point**. Parking available in Clarksburg Elementary School (Redgrave Pl).
* **Refueling**.  Two recommended stops. First in Taneytown, @poi[Sheetz](2015687) (mile 37.4, 
610 E Main St, Luray, VA 22835).  Bathroom available.  Second refueling in Damascus (mile 72.8); with two options: quick stop in @poi[7-Eleven](1947544) or excellent coffee in  @poi[The Music Cafe](2015688).
* **Duration of the ride**.  Six to seven hours.
* **Safety traffic**.  Road conditions are excellent. Because of narrow shoulders and two-way roads, "single line all the time".  Be careful of high-speed traffic in @slice[Ridge Rd](d,89272.6,93201.57) and @slice[Frederick Rd crossing to W. Old Baltimore Rd](d,135582.8,139912.78).   Because the route has many turns, it is important to pay close attention to your cue-sheet or GPS device; otherwise you could get lost easily. 
* **After the ride**. Plenty of options for restaurants in Clarksburg. Suggestion for a good hamburger and beer: @poi[Bennigan's](1941746) (23315 N Frederick Rd, Clarksburg, MD 20871).

* @slice[From mile 21 to stop in Taneytown](d,33793.62,58544.37).  Mostly flat or "false flat" terrain.  Not too much traffic in this section.
* @slice[Rolling again](d,60912,143702.63).  From mile 37 to the end of the ride.
