Explore the Historic Triangle on two wheels!

The **Historic Triangle** includes three historic colonial communities located on the Virginia Peninsula of the United States and is bounded by the York River on the north and the James River on the south. The points that form the triangle are Jamestown, Colonial Williamsburg, and Yorktown. They feature many restored attractions, museums, parks and trails.

Fortunately the area is also very cycling-friendly, making it possible to experience this history on two wheels!  Of particular significance is [The Virginia Capital Trail](http://virginiacapitaltrail.org/), a recently completed 52-mile paved multi-use path extending from the first capital of Virginia (Jamestown) to the current capital (Richmond).

The routes included herein were created by the [Williamsburg Area Bicyclists (WAB)](http://wabonline.org), and are several example routes in a WAB publication titled "[Williamsburg Area Bicycle Rides](http://www.wabonline.org/index.php/williamsburg-area-bicycle-rides)".  This publication is comprised of twenty-six routes in the Historic Triangle and surrounding area and include professional quality full color maps and cue sheets.
