The Mighty Eastern Shore Challenge

Created by: Bicycle Network Tasmania

Sat. October 8 10:00AM—Sat. October 8, 2022, 2:00PM

Location: Geilston Bay Boat club car park Map 2-B-43.

Organizers: Brian Chapman

This all encompassing 42 km circuit takes you through formed sealed and unsealed bike tracks, quiet local roads, a private dirt track not normally accessible then topped off with challenging bush country. We will be occasionally stopping to admire the magnificent views. You will need a tough bike and be prepared for a little bit of challenging terrain. You'll also need to be relatively fit. There are a number of gates where your bike will need to be lifted over but we can help each other. Bring your own picnic lunch and refreshments to have along the way. We will stop for coffee at Shoreline Shopping Centre on the return leg. Your ride leader will be Brian Chapman.

We'll start and finish the ride at the Geilston Bay Boat Club carpark.
Meet from 9.45am at the Boat Club carpark to leave at 10am. Return approx 2pm

RSVP-ers (see below) will be advised by email of any changes. Also feel free to phone Brian (0429125638) on the morning of the ride if uncertain about the weather. Be aware: Please don’t come if you are at all unwell or have symptoms of becoming unwell.
If you RSVP you are agreeing to our Terms and Conditions (listed on the next Tab).

Our social rides leaders follow a set of protocols to help make rides compliant with government directions:
- Meeting places for rides will have plenty of space for people to maintain 1.5 to 2 metre distancing while unloading bikes, listening to the briefing, and getting ready to ride.
- Coffee spots will be outdoors or very well ventilated.
- Riders are asked to register online or via phone so there is no paper being handed around on the day.
- People are asked not to attend rides if they have fever, cough, sore throat, fatigue, shortness of breath or runny nose.

In registering for one of our Club rides you are agreeing with these statements:

I agree to abide by the physical distancing rules as explained by the ride leader.

I understand that participation in bicycle rides involves riding on public roads used by other traffic and I am aware of the hazards involved in that and in riding bicycles in general. In my judgement, I/my family have sufficient competence and experience to participate safely in such riding. I/my family agree to comply with all road rules and to directions given by Tasmania Police or event organisers. I will take responsibility for any children under the age of 16 years who are in my care on the ride. I hereby release, exempt and indemnify the organisers, sponsors and all other persons involved in the event/s from all liability whether in negligence or otherwise which may arise in connection with the participation of myself/ my family in these events. The organisers reserve the right to refuse entry. The organisers may vary the route or venues without notice. I am happy to be contacted with information about membership of Bicycle Network.
