Annapolis County's natural environment and historic settlements offers residents and visitors with many choices for outdoor recreation opportunities. Whether you walk, hike, cycle, paddle or ATV there is a variety of great experiences you can choose from.
We have spent time creating brochures and guides in promoting recreation opportunities that include but not limited to Canoe Annapolis County ; Bicycle Annapolis County and the Outdoor Recreation map.
In recent times we have turned to adding these guides to the Ride with GPS app so you can explore your way.
Experience the Bay of Fundy region and picturesque coastal communities with wharfs and lighthouses ; our valley region with rolling landscapes that is a great cycling area with towns and villages that have hidden viewpoints and warm and friendly hospitality.
The regions former rail corridors are multi use include the Harvest Moon Trailway which follows along the valley floor and along the Annapolis River so you can hike, bike and or ATV and visit the various valley communities ; the South Shore Annapolis Valley Trail takes you through the South Mountain to explore the wilderness regions.
The south shore region of the County includes the wilderness areas of the South Mountain with it's many and varied inland lakes and waterways. The former Bowater Mersey woodland lands now owned by the province provide a backdrop for many recreational experiences. In addition the province has designated five wilderness areas within this region which is open to paddling , biking and hiking.
Another gem is Kejimkujik National Park and National Historic Site of Canada with historic paddling routes, hiking trails, bike pathways and mountain bike adventures.
